#BreakingTheSilenceCongoWeek Breaking the Silence Congo Week is a week of activities commemorating the millions of lives lost in the Congo conflict while celebrating the country's enormous human and natural potential. Communities around the world join forces with Congolese people during the third week of October each year to screen films, hold teach-ins and forums, organize rallies, fundraisers, hold concerts, and engage in many other activities to raise Congo's profile worldwide. Students and community organizers initiated Congo Week in 2008. Religious leaders, scholars, intellectuals, artists, and ordinary people around the world also participated to honor the lives of Congolese people and their quest for human dignity.
